Summer reopening for Fife hotel
By Journal Staff
A $5 million face lift is under way at the former Fife Executive Inn at 5700 Pacific Highway E. in Fife. When finished in early summer, the 138-room property will reopen as the Best Western Fife Hotel & Conference Center.
Merit Co., the project's general contractor, is finishing up selective demolition inside the building. Common spaces are being gutted and will be reconfigured for a new restaurant, lounge and catering service. Banquet space is being expanded to 18,500 square feet and will be more divisible than the old configuration.
The main focus of the renovation is adding a separate 1,500-square-foot conference entry and expanding pre-function space, which will create a proper ballroom and banquet facility. Also included will be renovated public spaces, guestrooms and baths.
The property is owned by Quad/Tucci, which has formed Fife Lodging LLC as the hotel's owner. The hotel will be managed by Chambers Lodging LLC under the Best Western flag.
Degen & Degen is the architect and interior designer, with Jeffrey S. Degen as project principal and Anita L. Degen as project principal for interiors.
